Frequently Asked Questions

How Often Do You Need to Change Sanding Pads?

How long your sandpaper pads last depends on what you use it for and how frequently you use it. Sanding mesh and pads should be used for as long as it is serving its purpose, however common signs that you are ready to replace your sanding pad includes reduced efficiency, poor connection between your sander and pad, or visible wear and tear.

Should You Push Down When Using an Orbital Sander?

Only very light pressure is required when using an orbital sander, with any excessive pressure or uneven movements likely to cause an imperfect finish. Ensure the pad is completely flat against the material you are working with and then let the weight of your hand and sander apply the downward pressure as you move the sander in the direction of the grain. Ensure you are doing steady movements and periodically inspecting your work to ensure you are applying the right amount of pressure.
